Opinion Archives Adds Two New Journals

PALCI and OpinionArchives are pleased to announce a collection of electronic magazine archives.  These 10 journals of  opinion cover the complete spectrum of politics, arts, culture, religion  and science with over 720 years of archives.  They are searchable by full text, date, author and subject.  Citation and summaries are also presented.  The actual pages may be viewed as PDF's and searched via browser and soon a federated search. A complete list of the titles is included below.

 Subscriptions are available for the entire collection or "a la carte" selection. No other aggregator offers the complete collections of Harpers (Liberal since 1850), NACLA (Latin American), Commonweal (Catholic), Commentary (Conservative and Jewish), American Spectator (Conservative), and The New York Review of Books (over 16000 articles), Dissent (Liberal) -new and The New Yorker -new. Our other titles include The Nation (Liberal), The New Republic (formerly liberal, now conservative), and National Review (Conservative).

The Nation  - Since 1865, leading weekly progressive and liberal coverage of politics and the arts both domestic and international coverage
 
The New Republic - Since 1914, neoliberal perspectives of literary and political coverage with Washington specialization
 
Harper's - Since 1850, second oldest continuously published monthly coverage from poets to presidents, politics and culture with a liberal view
 
Commentary - Since 1945, monthly views of politics, social issues, international and Jewish affairs, culture from neo-conservative perspective
 
National Review- Since 1955 biweekly conservative/libertarian coverage of news, analysis and opinion, including economic, social and cultural issues
 
NACLA - Since 1966, oldest continuously published, bimonthly liberal in-depth analysis of social, economic and political coverage of Latin America
 
Commonweal - Since 1924, publishes editorials, columns, essays, and poetry, along with film, book, and theatre reviews. American Spectator - Since 1967, American Spectator is a conservative, monthly magazine covering news and politics.
 
New York Review of Books - Since 1963, leading intellectual reviews containing more than 850 back issues, 16,000 articles, letters and original essays on literature, culture, and current affairs.

Dissent - Dissent, a quarterly magazine of politics and culture was founded in 1954
to dissent both from Stalinism and McCarthyism. One of America's leading intellectual journals on the left, it has published articles by founding editor Irving Howe. There is extraordinary coverage of both domestic and international events.

The New Yorker - Since 1925, The New Yorker is a weekly magazine with a signature mix of reporting on national and international politics and culture, humor and cartoons, fiction and poetry, and reviews and criticism of books, movies, theatre, classical and popular music, television, art, and fashion.

Pricing Options Defined:

Annual Bundle
An annual subscription to the core ten titles above, with NY Review of Books as an optional add-on.

Continuing Access (CAF)

Users pay (1) a one-time Continuing Access Fee (CAF) for ongoing access rights to the archive and (2) an Annual Maintenance Fee (AMF) to cover the costs of technical maintenance and updates starting in year two.

Pricing for the Continuing Access Fee is tiered according to library classification or FTE, whichever is greater. The Annual Maintenance Fee is 20% of the Continuing Access Fee.


10-year No-fee Option
Libraries that wish to dispense with annual maintenance fees can opt for 10-year no-fee access. The institution pays one fee and receives 10 years of access with annual updates and any software upgrades. After the 10 years, it will be necessary for the institution to re-subscribe to some form of Continuing or Annual access.

Perpetual Access
Libraries that wish to dispense with annual maintenance. The institution pays one fee and receives access with annual updates, maintenance, and support. After 10 years, it will be necessary for the institution to pay a small license fee for ongoing access.

This offer is for the Annual Bundle subscription, which includes the 10 core titles with NY Review of Books as add-on option. OpinionArchives will offer 10% off of the bundle access option AND OpinionArchives will also offer 10-20% off of any standalone access option.
