| American Mathematical Society - Math Sci Net | Offer Status: | closed until 2009 renewal | Renew Via: | PALCI | | Renewal Date: | Jan. 1 | Invoice: | from PALCI | | Renewal Type: | annual | Deadline to Renew: | Oct. 31 | PricingConsortia subscriptions to MathSciNet are composed of two parts: 1) the DAF, which is the cost of maintaining and enhancing the database, and 2) the MathSciNet (MSN) fee, which is the cost for the online delivery of the data. The Consortium DAF is based on the number of previous subscribers to Mathematical Reviews (MR) in the consortium. The pricing helps stabilize the revenue base for the DAF, while still allowing new schools to gain access to the database at a reasonable cost.
MathSciNet consortia fees (MSN) are calculated per site based on "Mathematical Activity" (MA). MA is the number of items appearing in MR that have originated from that site in a three-year period. MA is provided by MR and represents the most recent three-year period available at the time of the quote.
The formula for the MathSciNet fee is MA x $20 + $250, with a minimum fee of $250 and a maximum fee of $1000. The single subscriber price for MathSciNet for 2006 is $2140, so even the largest schools benefit from subscribing in a consortium.Subscription/Contact InfoFor a customized price quote, or to begin a subscription, contact: Cheryl Greer PALCI Electronic Resources Coordinator 412-422-2151 greer@palci.org View License AgreementThe consortium license agreement can be found on AMS' website at: http://www.ams.org/customers/msn-consort-license.html |
